Contact the editorial desk

Use this form to write to the editorial desk. It is not a reservation line and it cannot book a room or a band.

At a glance

For
Questions about the guides, corrections, and general notes.
Not for
Table bookings, private-room holds, or tickets.

Write to the editorial desk with a question about the guides, a correction, or a general note. This form is not a reservation line. It cannot hold a table, a function room or a band, and it cannot pass a message to a publican. If you need a room, speak to the house you have in mind.

The desk reads messages about the writing: a plate that was described poorly, a session habit that needs a clearer sentence, a feast-day note that should name a public body more carefully. Those messages improve the guides. Requests for rankings, prices or a list of operators do not, and they will not be turned into pages.

What to include

Your name and a reply address are enough to start. In the message, say which page you read and what you think it missed. If you are writing about a gathering, remember that this site does not book gatherings; the functions guide is the page that helps you prepare questions for someone else.

Do not send payment details. Do not send other people’s private information. Do not send a press release that is only a night of drink. If you represent a cultural organisation with a public education note that belongs beside these guides, describe the note, not a promotion.

What happens to a message

The form is sent to the editorial inbox. You should get a sense, from a reply, whether the desk can help. There is no promise of a reply time, and there is no phone line on this page. If a message was sent in error, write again and say so. The privacy page explains what is stored and why.

If you are in distress, this form is the wrong door. Speak with a GP, a local support service, or the people around you. If alcohol is part of the distress, those same doors apply. DrinkWise Australia points to help in ordinary language; a clinician can do the rest.

Other doors on the site

If you have not read a guide yet, start with Irish pubs in Australia. If your question is about 17 March, use St Patrick's Day. If it is about a pour or a stew, use food and drink. If it is about sitting in with a fiddle, use sessions. The home page maps all five.

The about page explains the desk. The disclaimer explains the limits of the information. You do not need to agree with every sentence to write. You need only to be clear.

If you wrote once and heard nothing, wait a little and write again with the same subject in the first line. Inboxes fail. A second civil note is better than a long complaint. If your note is time-sensitive because a gathering is soon, remember again that this desk cannot book the gathering; only the house can.

Use the form below. Fields marked as required are required so that a reply can find you. A topic menu keeps the inbox readable. There is no file upload, because this desk is not taking contracts or photographs of rooms for a gallery.

Thank you for writing as if the guides were a public room: briefly, civilly, and without asking the house to become something it is not.
